Eligibility/Age Policy

Rocky Mountain Junior Tour is open to any junior golfer age 6-19*. Age divisions will be determined by the player’s birth year.

Boys: 10 & Under | 11-13 | 14-19*
Girls: 10 & Under | 11-13 | 14-19*

Age Division Policy:

A player’s age division is determined by his/her age during round two. A player can move up during the middle of the season. For example, if a player is 13 and turns 14 during the middle of the season, they will play the remainder of the season from the 14-19 division. Points do not roll over to another division. Players can earn points in two age divisions.

In the event the Boys 10 and under or Girls 10 and under divisions have one player in the field, that player will be moved up one division automatically for that event.

A “junior golfer ” is an amateur golfer who has not reached (i) the September 1 following graduation from secondary school or (ii) his 19th birthday, whichever comes first. (*a 19 year old junior may play if they have not started college)

Scorecard Playoff Procedure

In any case that a playoff is needed to break a tie during a regular season event, our tournament staff will use a scorecard playoff.

The winner will be decided by a comparison of the LAST NINE HOLES of second round scores (the last nine holes will be will be 10-18, even for a shotgun or double tee starting format). The winner will hold the lowest score. If a tie still exists after the last nine holes, then the winner will be decided by the last six holes. If a tie still exists, the winner will be decided by the last three holes. If a tie still exists, the winner will be decided by the last hole. If a tie still exists, the scorecard procedure will be applied to the first nine holes until a winner is decided.

Note: Our first priority is a sudden death playoff, but if for any reason a sudden death playoff cannot occur, (inclement weather, course availability, etc) then we will resort to a scorecard playoff.

Sibling Discount

We offer families discounts that have two or more junior golfers for our events*. Participants who register one player at the normal rate will be eligible to register their brother or sister at a 10% discount. This rate will only apply to those who have brothers and sisters in an effort to help families that have two or more children who are playing tournament golf. In order to receive this discount you must contact Donna at the RMJT office.

Register as normal for both (or all) siblings, after registration is complete please call or email Donna HERE requesting the sibling rate and disclose all registered golfers names. She will then retroactively apply the discount to the remaining fees before they are charged. If the office is not notified & the full rate is inevitably charged for each sibling, we are not permitted to correct to mistake.

*This discount is only available to members. Discount does not apply to the membership fee.

Tie Breakers

Weather Delay/Cancellation

A tournament that completes 18 holes by players within a division (boys 15-18, boys 11-14, girls 15-18, girls 11-14) is deemed a completed tournament. Therefore, no refund for the divisions that have completed the 18 holes. Rankings are at the discretion of the individual ranking system guidelines: GolfWeek, Junior Golf Scoreboard and AJGA for PBE awards. RMJT will make every effort to complete a minimum of 18 holes placing a priority on safety first.

If a tournament does not complete 18 holes using the above divisional policy, players will receive a refund of the tournament fee, less a $45 cancellation fee to cover tee gift and staffing costs. The net refund will be credited back to the credit card used to make payment. If a complete cancellation occurs before a tournament has begun, a full refund will be given to each player. In the event of a full cancellation, please allow up to 7 business days for refunds to be processed, due to field sizes. Note: a tournament has officially started once check-in begins before the first round

In the event that NO golf is played and the ENTIRE tournament is cancelled, RMJT will work with the course to reschedule at a later date. If rescheduling is not an option for RMJT or the course, the tournament fee will be applied back to the credit card that was originally used.

Withdrawal Policy

Did Not Start, No Show, Withdrawal, No Card, and Disqualification Policies

These definitions and policies are mandated and defined by the rankings organizations such as Golfweek and Junior Golf Scoreboard, and are recognized and followed by the RMJT. As of January 1, 2020, the TJGT will no longer be utilizing “Justified Withdrawal.”

Note: Players and parents need to be aware that none of the below delineations have any mathematical affect on a player ranking, other than the official score reported for the round(s).

Did Not Start – Not submitted for rankings (DNS):
If a player does not hit the first shot of the tournament for any reason, it will be recorded as a Did Not Start (DNS ) and will not submitted for the rankings.

No Show – Submitted for Rankings (NS):
If a player begins a tournament and completes one or more rounds, signs a scorecard, and does not show up for a subsequent tee time without contacting an official, it will be recorded as a No Show (NS) and all official round scores for the event will be submitted for rankings

Withdrawal – Submitted for Rankings (WD):
If a player begins a tournament and completes one or more rounds, signs a scorecard, and notifies an official they will not be going on without a justifiable and independently verifiable reason, it will be recorded as a Withdrawal (WD) and all official round scores for the event will be submitted for rankings.

No Card – Submitted for Rankings (NC):
If a player begins the tournament, and for any reason other than a justified withdrawal, fails to turn in a signed scorecard for a completed round, it will be recorded as a No Card (NC) and all official round scores for the event will be submitted for the rankings. ALL withdraws during the first round will be recorded as NC … there will be no “WD” designations from a player failing to finish the first round.

Disqualification – Submitted for Rankings (DQ):
If a player tees it up and commits a USGA Rules infraction during the course of play or unintentionally fails to sign a scorecard before leaving the scoring area it will be recorded as a Disqualification ( DQ ) and all official round scores will be submitted for the rankings.
